Stand Up For
Forests, grasslands, oceans and wetlands are being destroyed and degraded as never before by poorly considered industrial, agricultural and residential development.
Only ten percent of Canada’s land and inland water and less than one percent of our ocean is legally protected. As a result, 50 percent of Canada’s wildlife species are in decline.
Federal and provincial governments are committed internationally to protect 17 percent of Canada’s land and inland water and 10 percent of Canada’s ocean by 2020.
Let’s make sure that they keep their promise to establish more protected places across Canada in areas such as the South Okanagan of British Columbia, the grasslands of southern Saskatchewan, and the shores of eastern Lake Ontario.
Our natural legacy depends on protected places.
Tell the government to implement action to protect Canada's land and waters by 2020!
Tell Prime Minister Trudeau and Finance Minister Morneau to make money for nature in the 2018 Budget!
